FeedForDev Beta Has Launched!

A 'Beta' release of NotePage's new FeedForDev has been released. FeedForDev is a component that allows developers to integrate RSS directly into their applications, opening a channel of communication with their users.

FeedForDev is currently in beta. This means that the product is stable, but does not yet contain all the features planned for the final release. Nor does it contain all the documentation. The purpose of the beta release is to solicit feedback from users about the way the product works, and to obtain feedback concerning the features that are included, or should be included in a final release.

The FeedForDev component is available in two forms: FeedForDev, a VCL component for Delphi, and FeedForDevX, an ActiveX component for most other development languages.

The new FeedForDev VCL and ActiveX components makes it easy to communicate with users from within your software application
All you have to do is add the FeedForDev component to your existing project.

Set the URL to your RSS feed, and let it do the rest. You can then ask the control for types of information from your RSS feed.

For example:

- On startup, ask the FeedForDev component to retrieve your feed and get the latest available program version. Let users know if an update is available.

- Add an option in your Help menu for for news. Ask the FeedForDev component for the 'news' articles in your RSS feed, and display them at your user's request.

- Ask the FeedForDev component for any tips/tricks in your RSS feed, and display them in your own window.

- Even automate program updates/patches using RSS enclosures.

Basically, FeedForDev is a really easy way to stay in communication with your current users, all from within you software.
